Ignition problem, '69T system with 70T engine
Some may know, but the situation is, I have a 1969T into which I have transplanted the engine from a 1970T (the 69 was seized... almost total boat anchor!). I am going to temporarily use the '69 ignition, until I get the $$ together for an MSD setup.
I got everything in today, and tried to fire up the engine... and then found a problem. The engine/distributor does not have a condenser. I do have the coil from the 69, as I know the coil from the CDS system in the 70 will not work. The distributor that is in the engine now is a Bosch unit, but it is not the correct (1970) unit. It is from a 68 or 69, and has a two peice points setup in it. What are my options here? Does anyone know for sure if I can just get a condenser and wire it up with the distributor I have? (that's the cheapest route... like $8 for the part) Or is the -Crane/Allison XR720 Fireball System, 911 (1965-69)- my best bet? mucho thanks in advance, I hope to get this figured out ASAP, and get whatever I need ordered tonight/tomorrow to get here by this weekend. Stinky must ride again soon!

I went ahead and ordered a condenser and a new coil... That's only $30. Should be able to incorporate it pretty easily.
