Johnnyo if you like the look of the slantnoses then you should make your car look the way YOU want it to look. Heck its your money why would you spend it to make someone else happy.
I semm to remember someone trying to reproduce the slantnose headlight linkages. Anybody know if that ever happened? slantnose6-sent you a pm. |
By all means DO IT. I love the look of the slant nose. So Eighties!!

SLANTNOSE6 ,
Why would it do better on driveway? it's shorter? can you post pic after that spoiler come in? I hate to scrape my front spoiler too. Thanks. To me, I like the bug's eye look. Stronger. The slantnose, I feel it looks weaker. The slantnose look more like a show/play car. It gets more attention. This makes me like the normal bugs eye even more. I have seen picture of normal thin body with only slantnose and I think it's.. not go together at all. If the car has slantnose, it should have wide body, wheels, side bar, etc.. just a very personal thought. http://www.doublehstore.dynalias.com/cars/911/02.jpg http://www.doublehstore.dynalias.com.../911_Ad_01.jpg |
The factory spoiler on the '87-'89 factory Slantnoses is just like the non-slant turbo.

Slants look best with boxed rockers. Very retro. You either like it or you don't.
|
slant nose looks great But I noticed that some don't have the slats in the back fenders that really looks cool
|
If you do, you are required by law to wear your hair like this guy:
http://img.lightreading.com/2001/05/5414_score.gif Loafers without socks and pastel suits and a skraggly "I-haven't-shaved-in-four-days" beard may also be required by your local jurisdiction. Tom |
Ben, those vanes are cosmetic dressing for the brake vent...unless they offer more directional influence for incoming air. One could order as an option on any wide body car from the factory. I don't think I've ever seen a brake vent delete on a 930s.

Do it right or don't do it. Nothing worse than a hack slant job. If you are doing turbo slant front fenders, you need to do turbo rear fenders. There was a hacked 911 with turbo front fenders (not slant but standard bug eye) on ebay with carrerra flares on the back!!! I don't think they were ever able to sell that thing. You don't have to have boxed rockers and slats if you don't want them, but do need turbo rear fenders.

If you do it, definitely install the optional "MIAMI VICE" flip down coke mirror in the glovebox.
(And you better LOVE that look because the change will basically kill the resale value of your car.) |
no

Do it! I really like the look of that maroon targa slope.
|
I can see we have the usual constructive and intelligent contributions.
|
That maroon Targa slope is one of the best I've seen. Very classy with the Turbo Twists.
That being said, don't do it. |
No.
I don't agree with Porsche Cosmetic Surgery (think Jennifer Gray). |
I could never personally come to grips with a slant nose street car. A 935 looks OK to me though - maybe it is just all the extra width, bodywork, tail, etc. Maybe it is just that a 935 usually has a race car paintjob and big numbers. My vote? Stay with the traditional 911 headlights.
|
I am not a fan of the Targa's looks, anyway but I think the slantnose looks good on a Targa. Camafluages the bathtub looks:D Go for it!!
|
my vote: NOT TO...don't do it.
