To slant or not to slant nose???

I have a 1987 911 Targa, my friend has a 1985 slantnose cabriolet, he has offered to exchange fenders with me, is it a fopa for me? am I doing a half a$$ed conversion? I do like the look of the slantnose with the flip up lights and at the same time I would be getting rid of the H5s. The slantoses Ive seen have had wide turbo style fenders, thanks

I like the slatnose look but not on a Targa nor a cab. Just my opinion.

jmz 01-04-2006 06:39 PM

fugetaboutit! but hey it's your choice man.

masraum 01-04-2006 06:39 PM

Don't do it, unless you really, REALLY love the slant nose look.

DonDavis 01-04-2006 06:41 PM

I don't care for the slant look. Hey, you asked!:p

jmz 01-04-2006 06:41 PM

oh yeah, GO Horns! Longhorns that is. ...watching the Rose bowl as I type this.

I personally would not do a Targa and I'd never do flatnose fenders on a car with Carrera flares. Besides you'll have turbo flares up front and not on the rear.

IMO, I think stock would be best.

Thanks Guys, all points well taken I think i now know why my wife dos'nt ask my opinion when she goes clothes shopping

Now now boys, dont argue. I happen to have a targa-slantnose and I really love it. You wont see another one coming at you. If you dont have wide flares on the rear of your car, dont do it. But, to each his own.

jtratza 01-04-2006 07:13 PM

Post some pics strup! Maybe eveyone will convert! I wanna see it.

I may be an old fart but that looks pretty darn good. Nice color with the twists. Looks like you painted the targa bar to match the body. Got a pic from the side with the roof off? Targas always look best topless.

I do, but I cant seem to find it, and the wife's sleeping. Maybe tomorow.

juanbenae 01-04-2006 07:55 PM

kind of a dated look.

although strup has done a very nice job with it.

SLANTNOSE6 01-04-2006 08:06 PM

It's, just a matter of your taste. Personally I wouldn't do it unless you put the turbo flairs in the rear. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1136437543.jpg

This is a sweet looking car. Something looks missing from the guards red one though, part of the bumper maybe?

strupgolf.. gorgeous car.

I'm in the minority here but I like the slant nose exposed light.. muscle fender look on a carrera body car.
