Need help indentifying a Bosch distributor
Can you tell from this pic if it's in good shape? I am buying long distance sight unseen so any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Also, the part number stamped on it is 0 237 304 015 It's claimed to be an SC dizzy but I don't think the part number jives. However, I don't know all of the part numbers out there especially when you consider rebuilds, etc. Thanks. ![]()

chrisp,
If you happened to misread [or mistype] the last digit ... that would be the correct Bosch pn 0.237.304.016 for a 1980 - 83 SC! ![]()

It is definitely an SC distributor
As for condition, check the play in the dist shaft for worn bearings. Hard to do long distance, I know! Can't tell from the pic whether it's single or dual vac take-off single vac is 78-79, dual is 80-83 |

Thanks guys. The part number wasn't a typo and that's the issue. I can't find any records showing a dizzy with that part number.

Wait a second, this thing is not long enough to be a 911 distributor.
and where is the tab with the adjustment slot? The big aluminum stop that is part of the distributor body. Could this be a dizzy from an early 80's 6 cyl BMW? Looking at the dizzy pic for an SC in my Factory w/s manual, this thing is all wrong! Sorry for the erroneous info in my last post! |
