From what we've seen on this board, some amazing folks can step up and help out when a project is at a crossroads or an impasse is met. Very focused individuals... Guys that you've read about in Pano (like Norbert Singer).... who will immerse themselves in the sort of problems you're experiencing. bump ---- and Happy Holiday ! ____________ '82 Targa - sold |
Zuffenhaus T Shirts!
You guys want to see our T-Shirts??
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1180548253.jpg - sorry about Matteo's CenterLocks obstructing the view - they're really nice shirts... |
Keith....wanna trade shirts?
|
i wouldn't even mind if you sent me the shirts 'packed' in those centerlocks... i'm sure the shirts would get here un-harmed..
-ahem- WOW |
good night!! there are no words. I need people to start ordering these by the thousands so that the unit cost can come down!
|
Eric, did you make that centerlock kit? Or do you just mean that you WANT them? (Like the rest of us...) :)
|
The centerlocks were made by Jim Torres and are avaliable through Zuffenhaus only.
Jeff Alton, Zuffenhaus and Kodiak are working to bring to the market a set of 917/RSR forged modular replica centerlock wheels. These will be avaliable with custom offset and sizes. The original wheels were 15' but there is a talk of a 17' center too to accomodate more modern tires. Stay tuned. As per the motor... Well Peter Dawe is in Watkins Glen for the race this weekend... So he will be hands on my motor early next week.... |
Thanks for the update Matteo. I just sent a shipment of shirts to Jeff last week. I love the idea of the 17" as well!
|
I can't believe that I have never seen this thread!
Matteo. What you cannot see is that I am bowing down. Amazing. Just amazing. And I thought I was crazy... (meaning this in a complimentary way, of course.) All my best, and I am looking forward to seeing pictures of the finished car... likely along with the rest of the world. |
No question that when it's done, a professional photographer should spend an hour with it. I know a great one in California who would do it...and is a total car guy. hirkophoto.com..he has great racing shots too. I'm sure we have a few pro photographers on the board, no?
|
I didn't know Peter Dawe was still involved in Porsche engine tuning....

in fact, we work with Peter on quite a few projects. Big HP projects. Very top-shelf. |
Frankly, great workmanship has already been done on your 911. How many more man-hours to complete it all is not known by most here.
The world today has lots of competing interests for everyone's time. Time - is the key thing in short supply.... Hopefully, the guys working out the problems have ample time and resources to give ... Further, it appears you have top notch people in your corner. All of whom are as passionate with the finished project as you are. http://i16.tinypic.com/537rho0.jpg _________________ '82 Targa - sold |
update...
I've been measuring these centerlocks for wheels...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181831745.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181831802.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181831884.jpg These are set up to use the stock 2-piece early front 930 rotors on all four corners, with stock 930 calipers, mounted in the stock arrangement (no spacers or adaptors). The rotor hats are different dimensions front and rear to allow this excellent fitment. The wheel mounting surface is also very close to the stock location (not exact, but close). |
in a word, SICK!
|
these pics make me want to fly out to North Carolina just to see it in person. What an amazing car this is!
|
Keith
