Mocked up on the rear

The compression/rebound adjuster is going to conflict with the hood so Wyatt at MCS sent some bushings in. Will install soon.

Quick fit check with the new tires/suspension - needs fine tuning but the look is mean!

Happy to see this thread resurrected! I followed this build back in the day. You'll love the MCS shocks. They're great!

I recently read through this entire build thread, what an amazing car and spec!! Sadly it sounds like the saga with Mr. Timmins left a sour taste in Matteo's mouth, rightly so after spending this much money.

You made a hell of a buy Robert, for sure much less than Matteo paid back in the day, and half of what it would cost now to build, even if you don't count the years spent waiting and organising.

Very cool that you are updating the car to top of the line modern EFI, and also adapting it to you needs. I like it even more as a long hood now, and the RSR bumper will fit the overall aesthetic and performance for sure.

Please keep posting pics and updates, there are many of us who enjoy following along (even if many never post)..

Cheers from Austria,
Lukas

New front bumper mocked up. It’s in for final paint and I’ll have this week.

Not sure if I should install before the re-wire and paint correction is done or afterwards?

Ran new stainless steel brake lines front and rear and flushed all the break fluids, replacing with Motul 660… Working on odds and ends while I work through final electrical plans… Electrical has become a major nightmare and will post separately on some questions/soul seeking…

Im still removing dynamat remains from this thing….. getting closer but does anyone have any secret sauce? I’ve been using mineral oil and citrus remover… Doesn’t need to be perfect when I’m done as it’s getting carpet but really prefer a clean slate.

73’ was the first year of the ducktail and ran on most of the RSR models including the 24 hour of Daytona winner. I think the 74 IROC started the whale tail but someone else can confirm.

I've used Goof Off, the mineral version not the water based version, and a respirator, the fumes are a killer

are you removing it to save some weight, or do you feel it just isnt effective in sound mitigation? Car is looking great by the way.

To save weight... But after the 20+ hours of dealing with this it wasn't worth it. I think we saved about 20 - 25 lbs (some areas were double coated). Worst idea I've had. Ha.

The electrical / re-wire is turning into a nightmare…. While
I figured that out I’ve ordered a Numeric racing shifter and rod. Also took the pedal assembly out for cleaning and to replace any worn bushing etc.

Installed the Numeric racing shifter and rod. I bought the wood look shifter knob to keep it a bit retro. Also, mocked the new front bumper up and it’s looking great. I got new LED lights and think I am going to install the old H4 lenses in the new LED light body.

Also, the Recaro pole position seats are getting stripped and cleaned up. They will get repainted gloss black (the original Mexico Blue color is just a bit too much for me!), leather conditioned and dyed and inserts are being reupholstered basket weave black leather like the below…

Finally got the inside of this car clean! Will do a final scrub and repaint some minor spots where paint chipped or was severely scratched before we do the interior…

I want to replace the engine fan shroud and tin. Assuming I need to drop the engine to do so? Looks like Damon and Series 900 has received a lot of recommendations for the fiberglass setup - any thoughts or other recs?

It sure would sure be easier to change the tin with it out, but a partial drop would also allow it to be done, albeit with more effort and curse words.
