No...different sanctioning body. However, check out the Rolex Sports Car website for info on the Pcars entered, incl the prototype Porsche Crawford and Fabcar, both of which were very quick.

The “54th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring” will be the first race of the season for the Spyder RS. It is Saturday, March 18, 2006. It will be on Speed Channel live. The AMLS Series has great live on-line access. You can simultaneously listen to the web radio live track announcer, read the transponder position and lap-time updates (about every 15 sec.), and read the “pit notes” entered by the pit marshals reporting officially what is happening in the pits.
Start here: http://www.imsaracing.net/ I did this for the AMLS race at Laguna Seca in October. There was also a fast moving thread here on Pelican. It was almost as good as being in the hot pit. Add live TV and perhaps some old tires burning as incense …well. If the docs won’t let me go, this is a great alternative. For this race I may get another hi-speed connection or two and we have a 14-hour Pelican party. Best, Grady

When Pontiac... I mean grand am, I mean Rolex first came out with the daytona prototypes the porsche powered cars were fast and competitive, then the V8s started beating up on them pretty regularly. I heard that they gave the porsche powerplants a weight compensation over the winter allowing them to be a little lighter than before. Does anyone know if they are un-doing a weight penalty from before, or are them compensating for the un-fair restrictor sizes that give the other engines an advantage?
Another thing that is a bit strange, the "in" or "cool" thing nowadays with the roundy-round crowd is to go road racing. There is a whole bunch of NASCAR and indy and CART drivers signed up to drive at daytona including the most over-hyped driver of all time, Ms. Patrick. Must be nice to be famous just because of something you don't have (down there ) If she were male instead of female no one would even know her name.
