Chip installation instructions

I have a montronic box from a 964.
I want to take inventory of what chip is in inside.
I didn't install it so I don't have instructions to get to the chip.
I've taken the cover off, but the rest is not all that obvious.
I've search for over an hour, but cant find a thread on this.
I've seen some threads with some tips, but they are mostly adding info to whatever instructions people are already looking at.
There must be a thread, or a link to someone's site that has the details.
Thanks!

The technical forum has an article under "Fuel Injection" that illustrates and discusses steps to take to remove and replace a chip.

Losening the top circuit board was a little more involved.
The 964 montronic box has 55 terminals on the main connector.
The top 18 are actually part of the top board. There is a tang on both ends inside the big connector that need to be pried out with a small screwdriver. It's not what is immediately assumed. By prying these out a bit it allows the back edge of the board to be lifted higher which in turn allows the board with the top 18 terminals to be slid out the back of the connector. Then it can be folded open on the ribbion cable like a book.

After opening it up I found an GIAC chip. Never herd of them, but they seem to support a lot of applications.
What's the deal with these? Good, bad?

If you want a dual, performance/stock chip for the 964 talk to Ingo at 3.6@cox.net

Flip of a switch changes the mapping.
