Power Increase

Hi Guys,

I own a Swiss spec 88 3.2 Carrera which has the 217BHP US spec engine (lower compression etc) compared to the 231bhp as the rest of the Euro 3.2,s. This was specific to Switzerland due to their emmision rules. What would you guys suggest to increase the power. Bearing in mind I don't have loads of cash to throw at it due to other commitments (ie girlfriend, house etc). Thought you chaps may be best to advise due to the fact you have more experience of this engine as opposed to my British colleagues. Great forum by the way! Many thanks.

Best bang for the buck is a euro premuffler in my opinion. You can get 8+ hp with the premuffler. You may have to put in the cat for emmision testing.
Here are some dyno numbers for the mods on my stock us 3.2L
More kudos for Steve W and dyno sheets

There was a recent thread on euro premufflers as well. You do a search for that thread.

And have a browse round http://www.911chips.com. I think they have dyno sheets for different modification combinations on there.

Thanks chaps. Just read AvonGills thread about fitting the cat bypass and Steve Wong chip, so I think i shall go the same route. Excited now. Just need the miserable English weather to clear so I can get the old girl out.

Yeah, and the car out too..

But seriously I reckon the cat bypass plus Wong chip will make a noticeable difference. Why not get one of those M&K rear mufflers too? They're supposed to sound ace! I'm going to get one once my bank account has recovered from christmas.
