i'm trying to figure out this battery setup. the car cranks but very slowly. put the battery on a trickle and it's been fully charged.

First thing to check is the ground strap from the transmission to the body. The end attached to the body is prone to rust.
For a test, connect a jumper cable from a trans. bolt (or other good engine ground) to the negative on the battery and see if it helps.

Well, someone did a heck of a job bastardizing it... the rear bumpers are wrong, the side mirrors are wrong... the tail wouldn't look TOO bad on it, but you should defnitely backdate the other stuff.

Looks like in the front trunk, the driver's side has some relays added... possibly for the headlights, which would be a good thing. The other side, I have no idea what is wired in there. The one larger gauge wire sticking out closer to the battery is likely the positive lead for the second battery, which you don't really need.

I would only restore it if that's what you enjoy doing. It will take a couple of years to this one right and you have to really enjoy the process for it to be worth it.

If you are asking if we think the car is worth paying someone to restore it for you then I would have to say absolutely not. It would be cheaper to buy one that is already restored. I can see right off the bat that you will need a new suspension pan and gas tank support welded in. That's a $1000 right there and is only the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not trying to discourage you but realistically the car will take a couple years and $15k to $30k to restore depending on the quality of restoration. The $15k resto comes with a Maaco paint job and used serviceable parts.

You should sell it to someone that posts full size pictures right in the tread. We'll be happy to help that person!

Seriously now, what I would look at to determine if it is worth it is RUST. If there is little to no rust, you should go ahead. Otherwise let it go and get something with a roof! (ducking)
