993 brake conversion parts source??

I'm adding 993 brakes to my 81 SC w/3.6. For those who have done it I need a good source for the front adapters / hats and rotors. I Dinftown, but no return e-mail, I tried VCI but they want $900. Any suggestions??

Jeff

I got my hats for my 930 brake conversion from Powertech in NJ. Very reasonable.

jeff, i sourced a set of used calipers from the classified section. on the rear i used 930 rear rotors to retain the parking brake. i made the front caliper adapters out of a 1x1 6061 bar stock i had laying around. the front adaper plates/hats for my wilwood rotors were made from 1/4 plate on a milling machine. the rear calipers were welded up and re machined to the correct bolt spacing. i did everything for around $1250 which included front and rear calipers, new front wilwood rotors, new zimmerman drilled rear 930 rotors and machine labor to make my plates.

Pelicanite NorthCoastCab has a kit that he has put together to do just what you're asking.

He has 993 f/r calipers and adapters, front hats and front rotors all available immediately. The only thing you have to provide is rear rotors and labor to put it all together.

Do a search for him and I think you'll find it attractively priced.

No affiliations.

Doug Arnao (VCI) is expensive, but he makes good stuff. I see you already tried him, but in case you want to reference his site, it's VCI.

Who makes those rotors? The listing doesn't provide the name of the mfg. Good link! Is that your company, NorthCoast?

Wilwood
No, it's not my company. I put those brass shift bushing in and they're killer though.

Do you know which Wilwood discs? Aren't there different grades and quality?

Sounds like a good deal, though.
Thanks,

Doug

Sweet - I have the GT series now - but have a set of HD wilwoods on the shelf when these wear out

Wow, great price at Trackday! I think he is a Pelican, I recognise the car on the website, maybe not though?

Cheers

Thanks Guys

North Coast came thru with a nice set of calipers, adapters, hardware, rotors and hats. Arrived yesterday. Excellent person to deal with! Damn those things are big. Gathering some more info and I'll start the conversion next week.

Jeff
