Parking lights on/off with ignition switch??

Has anyone come up with a quick and easy way to add a relay so the parking lights shut off when the ignition is turned off?

It defeats the purpose of the parking lights if it shuts off with the key off.

ok, help me here, are you saying that if you turn the car off with the headlights still on it will just leave on "parking lights" that will not drain the battery and prevent people from hitting you?

Or maybe I misunderstand.

Yep, the headlight switch will turn on the parking lights without the key in the car. It has become second nature to press the headlight switch in with the back of my left hand when I pull the key out.

Or you can turn off your parking lights entirely and flip your turn signal indicator to the left to turn on your left side parking lights or to the right for the other. Your battery will only drain half as fast before people hit you.

fyi - you can use the turn signal when parking. turning it on with the key off will illuminate just one side of the car.
