Trans Rebuild Service Interest ???
Hey guys, gauging interest/response for what everyone thinks about a p-car transmission rebuilding service.
I'm curious if it would be a viable business? Thinking of starting a world class, ISO conformant trans shop. Thoughts, comments? |

Help me with what an ISO conformant shop is, please.
There is an East coast shop already in business that is well known. One in the West or Midwest might be a better idea. But who knows? A good shop, with good prices and a quick turn around (I think the existing shop does a 2 day turn around) and excellent work could always attract customers. Building a reputation takes a lot of time. In the interim, excellent communication would be most helpful in establishing a new business. That's where so many businesses fall short. And let's face it, it's expensive to spend all day on the phone and answering emails. Ask Wayne at Pelican. |

The best known "East coast shop" is Gary Fairbanks but he only does pre-G50 transmissions. Maybe there is still some room in the G50 rebuild market.
