For a 77, what is the proper torque numbers for the heat exchanger to the muffler and the thermal reactor (or replacement piece)?

Don't know for 77, but for 78-83, the torque numbers out of the Bentley manual for the muffler to the catalytic converter and cat to muffler are both 18 ft-lb. I assume these would be the same for the 77, but let's see what others might have to say.

Thank you 79_911SC
I had another person tell me 16.95 Ft-Lbs for both on a 77. I think we are good. Again, thank you for the quick reply. P.S. I know the Bentley manual is a very good book for 78 and newer. Do you think it is worth buying for a 77 or are there to many differences between 2.7 and 3.0? |

You can contact Haynes or Bentley and they will look any torque specs not listed from the Factory Manual.
