Wide Body Wheel Offset Q's

Yes, done the search. No help.

My 1980SC with turbo widebody came with some *&%* brand wheels and spacers.
I'm looking for wheels for it that will eliminate the spacer/adapter deal.
My thinking is 16x7's up front and 16x8 or 16x9 at the rear.

Can anynoe tell me the correct offset for such wheels on a wide body???

the factory used 1 inch spacers in the rear and front useing 7 and 9 or 8s for the early cars. the 930s however had a 1 wider track on the banana arm so if adapting a non turbo set up (such as I am doing) then you can not really avoid running 2 inch in the rear and 1 inch up front. Unless you have custome made wheel and the folks that do that know what you need. Lindsey racing is a good start

I'm doing a slant conversion to my '86 and she's got BBS 8 & 10 x 16's with a 1" front and 1-1/2" rear spacers.
Contact Gary Stratton (407) 421-1911 for the correct wheel sizes and spacers.

That's a tough one.
I do not think there are any stock Porsche 16" wheels that will work in your application. The correct offset would be a 2" outer lip in the front and a 4" outer lip in the rear, pretty deep.
Old school RSR wheels will work but they are 15", very expensive, and probably not what you are after. Here is a picture using stock 9x15 front and custom 12x15 rear:

Here is a picture showing a "typical" offset wheel (requiring spacers) as compared to the custom or RSR offset:

Here is a picture of the style of adapter you will need for most wheels to fit - 1" in the front and 2" in the rear. It'll cost you about $300 and is the most economical way to get you where you need to be:

For reference..ADAPTORS are devices as pictured, with their own mounting studs to be used along with the normal studs ( 10 fasteners / wheel)..as opposed to SPACERS...which use replacement longer studs thru the holes of the spacer......

That's just it, the car currently has 17x8 up front and 17x9 in the rear with 1" F & 2" R adapters.
I was hoping to get away from the adapters.

Lindsey Racing 2-piece Fuchs. Lots of grip for not too much green. These are 9.5x11x17 wheels with 275F and 315R tires.

ssetek, i believe you.
That style is on the CCW site but they only list 18" and up ?
Maybe they discontinued making 17" wheels, who knows.
I do like those too !
