still undecided as to carrera script color...might enter it in the greenwich concours as a rally car, with white script and wheel centers...eventually change to rsr finish on the fuchs and black script, but i thought the white might look a little retro:

black script is next... |
it looks good like it is in my view, maybe no script?
|
Is it up and running?? I'll bring a couple of Sammy Summer ales over so I can hear that MK muffler!
|
I'm away until the 19th..Mike should be starting it in my absence :(
Question: the stock rear bumper gasket seems very thick on the fiberglass bumper, keeping us from pushing it up all the way (space between bumperettes and ducktail seems a bit wider than normal) ...is there anything thinner available, any tricks of the trade? thanks! |

Update to an old post-14 years later. Mechanically, I have continued to gradually refine the car. I’ve done a lot of rallies and the paint is pretty tired. Also looking to quiet things down inside and outside, removing roll bar and upgrading the interior so that my wife and 7 year old son can accompany me on more drives. A prior owner had cut a hole in the engine compartment to fit a later oil tank. Oil door, which was intact but vestigial, will once again be functional. I’ve sourced a 72 tank and oil console, but looking for photos that show it in situ. I have the porsche diagrams, but I’m afraid they don’t give enough detail of the tank installed. Any pics would be appreciated.
A pic of the car in it’s last iteration: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1602553422.jpg I’ve picked a new color and working on a unique interior combination for the next 14 or 24 years...this will go to my son. I’ve managed to assemble a nice collection of other Marques but this one will always be my favorite... |
I’m glad you updated the thread so I could discover another build thread that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Please post some additional pics if you can. I’d love to see interior and engine photos. Great car btw!

Spectacular
This car has been a fixture in the northeast. Can’t wait to see the next incarnation. Very well done. |
