Whats a good trany for my engine?

I am placing my '81 911 SC 3.0 in my '78 911. Whats a good solid trany I can put in this?

I think that you are essentially limited to the 915 transmission. You could go with a G50 but to do so would take major modifications to the body of your car (from what I understand). I am not an expert on the conversion to G50's all I know is that it takes a lot of work. I'll drop you a PM I might be able to help in the trans department.

One thing to note is that there was a change in case material from magnesium to aluminum, I believe. At least I know sometime around 1980 there was a change done to the transmission to give it more strength. I'd probably suggest you research and find out exactly what the strengthening was and find a trans with the added strength.
