Weber Idle Circuit

I think my idle circuit or Jets are not working as they should. The only way to get my car started (from cold) is to pump the gas and crank it..It will fire right up and die..I keep doing this until it will hold a rough idle. Once it gets warm she is fine, I think

I would like to check my idle circuit. I plan on remoeving the jets and using some carb cleaner to spray in. If the jets are clean and the carb clean passes through..can I be mostly sure things are okay????

I am running 40's and have a 2.2T...What should I have for jets. If I go larger I would expect to just have a richer idle, correct? Higher number lager jet???

FYI the outside temp was 60F +

Cheers

"....Once it gets warm she is fine, I think"

I would rule out the carb because of this sumptom. The carb shouldn't be temperature-dependent at 60ºF.

I suggest testing the fuel pump for pressure and volume (cold and warmed up), before and after the filter(s).

I would estimate idle jetting to be in the neighborhood of around 40-45.

Your assumptions about cleaning idle jets and passages are correct. However, this wouldn't preclude something else contributing to your symptoms (e.g. ignition).

Bigger number, bigger passage, more flow.

Part of regular maintenance is disassembling, cleaning and re-setting your carburetors. This is very easy to do and don’t hesitate. These 911 engines have only two critical outside systems – fuel and ignition. Proper running requires regular maintenance of both.

Best,
Grady
