relay socket on engine bay side of 3.2 DME harness
What is the round relay socket on the engine bay side of my 3.2 DME harness for? Is this where the Red fuel pump relay gets plugged in? If so, are there wires on the other end that go to the terminals on the fuel pump?

On Marc's site, he says it's a Diagnostic connector. I put mine in the the same place. I'll look in the Bentley for confirmation as I've also wondered exactly what it is.
And no, my car still has not started. ![]() ![]()

Thanks Don. Thats what the guy that sold me the motor said. I hadn't really looked at it until yesterday and I started thinking maybe he was talking about something else it had to be for a relay.
Did you wire up a red fuel pump relay? If so, can you post some details when you have time? Sorry to hear that you are not up and running yet. I got my gearbox and CVs plugged in yesterday. I may plug my motor in within the next few weekends. |

On my car there isn't a relay or plug (like in Don's picture). The only diagnostic port I know of on the 3.2 is the one by the ICV and it is basically tied to another reference sensor.

I'm not sure of the complete function of this port, but Steve Wong instructions for setting idle have you jumping a couple of those connections.

All you 3.2 guys do have that port. It's hidden under the rear relay cover. It's in the upper right, not down with the other relays. I posted info about it in this thread.

You're right Chris, here's a pic I just snapped showing the relay socket behind the rear defogger relay. I've never had a relay plugged into it and all my options work. I wonder if it's for the optional rear window wiper that I don't have?

BTW Shuie, your DME relay IS the fuel pump relay on a 3.2. There isn't a separate one for the fuel pump.
