3.2 gauge/instruments bulb size
Does anyone know what size bulb goes in the gauges of the 3.2?

From memory, I think the bulb number is 3898. I hope someone else chimes in...

My SC uses 7mm bayonet bulbs for the illumination light and a smaller blade style bulb for the idiot lights (Osram 2721?). I don't know when the bulbs and gauges might have changed but they look the same through 89.

I bought aftermarket led's(light emitting diodes) they are brighter. I did a search on ebay,and found a guy who sells these.
His ebay handle is 911porsche1 Go to ebay and email him, I got a set of 9 for $35.00

There are a couple of types of bulbs used, for gauge illumination and for idiot lights. From the Porsche spec book:
