Porsche Crest K&N filters and CIS Adjustments

I was curious whether there was any adjustments needed to the CIS when installing a K&N air filter. My car is a 1982 SC Coupe.

No. Regardless of advertising hype, your engine will not flow any more air (or make more HP) with a K&N than with the stock filter. If you're curious, the restriction for the 3.0 (and 2.7, 3.2) engine(s) is at the exhaust not the intake. This is why an SSI (or equivalent) and sport muffler exhaust system is a popular (albeit expensive) modification.

I had heard that about the bottleneck for this era 911. I was thinking of having a lifelong filter and maybe a little better cleaning. The engine seemed to sound slightly throatier and ran slightly rougher at start-up. That's why I thought maybe there was an adjustment that could help.
