New Search Engine!!!

I installed a new type of search engine that should speed up searches, and also speed up the overall board (it's what slows everything down at times). Please let me know what you think, or if you encounter any problems...

May need some work. I tried searching for Sumitomo in the Forum Search function and it came up saying it's not found and also displayed:

I did a search on MFI, the search engine came back with 62 results. I suspect there should be quite some more. It also seems a bit slower (but if this is a trade off for a faster bbs, i'm quite happy with that choice). I like the additional options to refine the search.

I like the options. But when I did a search for the word "Building" to bring up my old "Building a Better Black Beauty" threads, it came up with 19 results in all forums -- but none of the BB2 threads. When I added my user name (partial: Olsen), it came back with zero hits. Is it only looking back a certain amount of time?

Wayne,
Like Peter - I too noticed the new search engine. While most of you were sleeping, I was using it once Wayne opened to the public...Germany is 9 hours ahead
I did an MFI search and was very pleased!

Vr,
Bavaria

Also, the new search engine is semi-intelligent - it doesn't allow searching on super common words like "the" or "is" or "you" unless you enter it into the exact phrase. This keeps searching quicker, and helps to return more relevant results. "Building" should be unique enough to return the proper results...

it shows no results for "ST" but if i search "ST flares" it highlights 'flares' as well as 'ST'

is it selective when decides to look for two-letter words? "H1" and "H4" is also ignored.

Can you get it to allow "SC" as a search parameter? Seems as that may have some use around here especially in multiple context searches: i.e; SC brakes

Edit: Nevermind. Harlequin already pointed out it does work in those searches. My apologies.

I got no matches for "cv". Are 2-letter words still verboten? In any case, it's still hard to search for info on cv joints.

You just answered your own question. Search for "joints." Should work excellent on the 914 board and even better at the CLUB.

SC owners, I can't help. Perhaps you have to narrow your search just a bit......

Try seaching for S

If that search doesn't work, then try spliff, blount, or ganja...
