As the process starts, and i get to the issue of proper wheel sizing, and want to use my factory fuchs 16",will they be able to be reused and made to the proper width to fill in the wheel wells?(i.e. 2pc or 3pc ) and what will the fabricator need for this determination....I find the whole wheel thing more confusing than the rest of the project.

The wheel guy should be the guy to answer THOSE questions....

For my RSR clone I used the following:
Rear '74-'77 aluminum trailing arms with stock pick-up points Custom 16X11" 3 pc Fuchs made from 16X6" centers and BBS inners/outers - Backspace=12.5cm Hoosier 275X16 - Section width=31cm 1" spacers Front Stock A arms with standard pick-up points Stock 16X9" Fuchs Hoosier 245X16" 1/4" spacers This combination gives a good overall look and centers the tires in the RSR flares with adequate clearance. The choice of 16" rims does limit the tire choices. Currently there is northing I know of other than the Hoosiers available in a wide enough section width in a 16" tire. |
This is our '75 Carrera (RS look) street legal race car (before graphics). 8x16 951 fronts w/225's and 11x17 3 pc. Fuchs centers w/BBS inner & outer halves. w/315 rears. Goodyear street tires. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1143993318.jpg
