RSR "look"
 

Is there such a thing? and if so can someone post some pics of them to help get me started. also when doing an rsr look or turbo look,,is it only the cosmetics thats changed or does the suspension also need to be altered,due to the increased weight,since i'm going with steel.

A "true" factory turbo look had 930 suspension and brakes....as far as is there such a thing?....Do a search for back dates to see what turns up...it is a very popular modification these days....I prefer the RS look myself....although there are a few wide bodies out there that are really nice....you can also do a search for Jack Olsen...he has several pics of his bb2 (RSRish)....or buy the June issue of Excellence....

the T.T need new mounts on them for the new banana arm as it is shorter, diff brakes, 4 speed, G50 tran, tie rods, for starters

There are a number of RSR clones on this board. You can go as heavily into the engine and suspension as you'd like, of course. There is some extra weight with the RSR look (whether it's the 2.8 RSR or the even wider 3.0 RSR), but it's not enough to merit a different suspension, really.

how long did the project take?

depending on your tastes you can go with the 73 RSR look or the 74 iroc/rsr look, or the full blown race 74-76 RSR look. The time it takes depends on how busy the body shop is, how quickly you can obtain the parts, and how exten$$ive a conversion you wish to achieve. A quality piece can easily take 5-8 months or longer- again depending on the above factors

I can't speak for Tom, but my project is 8 months in and it's still a shell :) Tom's, Jack's and Doug's RSRs are excellent examples of well done projects. Good luck on yours.

I did a cabriolet RS conversion....I've yet to see a targa RS....:p

Now this cloning or look can be done with a 77 911S?

Sure...I started with an 83.

Just depends on how you want to do it.....not like there's an instruction/rule book. Get some pics of real or clones and take your cue from there.

Mine has fiberglass fenders and hoods....some people like to find REAL steel stuff...also get a real RS spec motor.....I went with a 3.6 Fule Injected motor and a No Bad Days performance chip....

BTW....Dave @ TRE in North Hollywood CA is a good source for longhood conversion parts if you have a 74 and up want to backdate it.....

The neat part is the hood that works with a short hood car without having to cut it up and relocate the latch....
