82 911 sc won't start

my 82 911 sc targa will not start. Battery is charged. After turning the ignition key there is only a buzzing sound from the front end and the engine won't crank. could this be ignition key related as it is original and worn?
Thanks very much.

Buzzing sound, probably the fuel pump, engine not cranking probably a bad ground, or bad starter solenoid, or a bad starter, or maybe the ignition switch.

Bad ground turn on the lights and see if they go dim or out when you crank the engine.

If you know how to hookup a remote starter you caqn determine if you have a bad ignition switch.

Be sure the battery is good. Just because youi charge it doesn't mean it is good.

Any chance the starter is warm? I have an '83 SC and one time after running for a while in hot weather it would not start. Waited several hours it started right up and have not had the problem since. Somebody said have the starter rebuilt and the problem will go away. Good luck.
