Where to buy for 79 915?

Wheres the best place to buy gears,1st 2.40 15/36, 2nd 1.68 19/32. 5th .76 29/22 for 1979 915

You need to say what transmission type and what gear position in addition to the ratio.

My suggestion would be ebay, either to buy or sell. You may find that it's cheaper to buy a transaxle with the gears that you want and to sell off the ones that you don't want on ebay. Or else just keep your eyes open for the specific gears that you do want.

Old trannies? You can't afford new gears...trust me. Best to find good used ones that have been inspected and/or magnafluxed.

There is no such thing as cheap gears for these cars.

transmissions are also going to become dearer, it's like waterfront property, they ain't makin it anymore

Lars-
Give EASY in Emmeryville a try. They had the best price for 911 gears, and I'm sure they would have 915 gears as well. I don't know how common the ratios are you listed, but it would be best if you could tell them which years and models featured the ratios you seek.
