Am I out of Line?
About two months ago I bought a muffler from the classified section here on Pelican. After I paid, the seller kept putting off delivery after bugging him about 3 weeks the muffler was finally shipped. I receive the muffler and there were no issues. The seller apologized profusely for the delay and offered a $35.00 refund for my trouble. I never asked for the refund. I accepted but here it is 2 months later and my phone and e-mail inquiries are just ignored.
The issue is not the money but the principle. Can you post to a bad seller list here on Pelican? Or am I just being too picky? Cheers John |

I guess I would just chalk it up to experience & move on. At least you received what you paid for (eventually). Believe me the $35 bucks isn't worth raising your stress levels.
I have had a transaction where it took more than 6 months to finally receive what I was owed, so maybe there is still hope ![]() |

Since you asked, I'd agree that you're being too picky.

Yeah really, if you are that upset about something so simple, you need to chill.

No your not. You sell something you should be responsible and be timely. How would any of you like it if you bought something first week of December (a present for someone) and they took three or four weeks to get around to shipping it to you, without telling you there was a three week delay in shipping. You buy something and I think a few days to a week is enough time to get around to fulfilling your obligation. The offer of $35 is nice, but it doesn't change the implied obligation.

I personally think that if the biggest thing in your world is worrying about a package getting to your house a little late, you are living a sad life.

I would just let it go. Nobody likes a tatletale
![]() As checking the history of your other post's, you seem to be a very nervous buyer of goods on the board. You will find that most and I mean most people in the pelican community are stand up guys. I would never buy something from a first time poster because I tend to be weary of fraud. My 2 cents because you asked. |

I am sorry I am so adamant about this, but I come to Pelican for help and the occasional funny jokes. I am a General Manager of a large equipment dealer, it never ceases to amaze me how some people get so bent out of shape over little issues. I have made many mistakes in my life as I am sure you all have, remember there was only one perfect man!!!

A lot of stress over $35. Consider your time as valuable you have probably spent more than that stressing about it.... as a collective you have just taken a lot more than $35 of time from the rest of us, and taken up valuable bandwidth on the internet that could otherwise have been used to share knowledge about Porsches
![]() ---Just kidding I think the guy owes you $35 and should pay an extra $35 for the delay in sending it to you. Why, because when it comes down to it, all we have left is one man's word against another, without it we don't have civilization... or a good place to buy used Porsche parts.

I say install the muffler and go for a nice spirited drive. By the time you get back home you'll forget about the whole thing. Life's too short to fret over $35.00.

umm.. you guys are all so nice. I was selling on ebay for a while and people were nagging, yelling, complainning even on the next day (after the day they paied. Some even threaten to sue the seller if the package come late (some exceptional case such as usps take over 4-5 days).
To me, waiting 2 weeks for the item to come is kind of long. Promiss a $35 refund but have not seen it after a month is way to long. I think he/she just gave you an offer to calm you down but won't issue the refund. In that case, yeah, get it off your mind. Just a personal thought.

Take a Prozac, get a good night's sleep and it will all be better in the morning.
Life is way too short to get tangled up in $35. Just don't buy from the ********* again. |

Thanks For the Input
Maybe I came across as more upset than I am. I really was not all that bothered by the delay. As I said the seller offered up the refund. I never even considered such a thing. However, why offer a refund if you are not going to follow through, just annoying is all.

Shipping to another country can pose delays, such as customs etc.
Typically it takes up to 2 weeks to arrive in Canada even when you ship "AIR". Most people are not in the "Business" of customer service. They have lives and are busy. Pelican is a great board with a wealth of knowledge plus the best in the Porsche 911 Game. Can't take it too serious. Good Luck! |

Let me clarify my position, Yes he has a right to be annoyed, no I wouldn't go flaming anyone on Pelican over this.

At some point you have to place a value on your time. Life is short and there are bigger fish to fry. Time to move on.
