Dumb (?) tyre size question

Hi guys,

Probably been covered elsewhere on the forum, but...

Is it possible to fit a 215/65 15 tyre to the rear of my '86 Carrera, rather than the OEM 216/60 15?

Just thinking about guard clearances etc...

I know it may look UGLY - but just curious!

Cheers!
Steve

Let me get this right... you want a taller tire? How novel in an auto age where 'gangstas' are painting a thin coating of rubber on 22" rims! If they do fit without rubbing you should get a nice cushy ride out of it!

I have been looking at tires for mine and will be going to a 225/60-15 when I replace the current 215/60-15's. The 225 will give about .5"- .7" more height depending on brand. I have already put 205/60's in the front to replace the 195/65's.

Hi Michael,

Did you get around to replacing your old tyres yet with the 225/60x15?? If so, did they fit, and are you pleased with the outcome..?

Cheers, Steve
