I'm not recommending what you *should* do, but here's what you *can* do. You *can* remove the AAR and AAV, and use the accelerator pedal to slightly open the throttle plate as you start the car, then slowly feather it down as the engine warms and the idle speed comes up. Or if you have a hand throttle, you could use it instead. I think the '75 was the last year for the hand throttle, but John Walker says his Turbo has one. The Factory put the AAR and AAV in so they could eliminate the hassle of folks having to deal with the hand throttle.

You can also remove the decel valve, but may have problems with the engine stalling in some cases, like snapping off the throttle and depressing the clutch when coming up to a stop light. The factory put it there to prevent the mixture in the manifold going too rich when the throttle is suddenly closed, resulting in an increase of emissions. Some people block it off because they like the way the engine behaves this way, using the engine to brake.

The CSV is the only way to get a combustible mixture into the engine without a lot of excessive cranking, pretty much regardless of the outside temperature. The only other component for getting fuel into the manifold is the air flow sensor/fuel distributor, and the air drawn onto the engine at cranking speeds is pretty low. Thus the air flow sensor doesn't raise much at cranking speeds.

screw the AAR, screw CIS, and just go EFI. Cleans up the engine bay quite well, and will probably work better with the turbo :D
