data logger - RPM signal?
I just bought a G2X data logger. I haven’t received it yet, but I am already researching on installation and set up. ..I am very anxious!!!
The manual says that “the tachometer input requires 5-18 Volt, 50% duty cycle, square wave output signal" Anyone knows if this is compatible with what the ECU of a '97 993 Vario engine will generate? Also, on the setup process the user has to specify the number of pulses from the tachometer signal for two revolutions of the engine. What would be that magic number??? ![]() Thanks

The Racepak software will have everything you need to set the pulses properly. I am using this system on a test car now and can help you get things set up correctly. The manual they have included with the logger is very good as well.
Good luck and feel free to contact me if you need any help. Cheers, James

Thanks James. i will probably bother you in a short while.
Are you using the RPM signal input, or are you taking it directly from the cigarette lighter power connection?
