Rear Window - Seal

I'm finally close to installing the rear window - after much struggling...

My question is this:

The top of the window / top of the window seal - obviously fits inside of the rear window recess.

Does the bottom of the window seal also fit entirely inside the recess? That is, does the outside flange of the window seal ('outside' of the seal aluminum molding) at the bottom and for that matter the bottom half - sit entirely inside the rear window recess?

Or does the rear window seal outside flange transition from the inside of the recess at the top to 'on top' of the recess at the bottom?

the top of the window seal fits inside of the rear window recess and the half of the bottom window seal fit inside the recess the other half recess in the window frame

Make sure that you place the glass into the car with the top lip first and the the bottom lip should place in the right position

thanks - let's make sure I've got it:

Top of window seal fits inside of the rear window recess - yup

Bottom of window seal fits outside of the rear window recess - on the car body / recess 'surround' ?

The sides of the window seal transition from inside the recess (top) to outside/on top of the recess (bottom)?

Correct or nay?

On my SC, it is how you describe.... The upper portion is seated down inside and the bottom outer lower seal lip just rests on top of the body.

That said, I installed it myself and at the Hershey swamped swap meet last month, after sitting out at the motel overnight during a 1"+ rain, I had leakage somewhere from this seal. (I have not had time to re-examine where or why it leaked)

The previous seal in the car was oriented the same (I can't guarantee it was the original though).
