Some times my car won’t start.
If I rotate the idle screw on the intake almost all the way to the left and try it……..
it starts Then I have to bring the idle back down. It does this about every 2 days. Any ideas? |

Would you walk into the hospital and say "Hey Doc, I don't feel good - what's wrong with me?"
You're going to need to give us a bit more data (like what year your 911 is - could be carbureted/fuel injected; could be computer-based (>=1984), etc.

All the way "left" if I am interpreting this correctly would be opening the bypass and letting more air through. Questions:
1. Do you have to do this only when the car is cold? 2. Have you changed anything recently? e.g. sensor plate height, basic mixture seeting? Again, another request for the exact year if you can post it.

year 78/79
i only have to do this if i have "driven " the car and shut it off then need to turn it on within 10 min. If it sits more than 20 there isnt a problem. i havnt changed anything it has always been like this since i got it back in the car |

Sounds like a basic mixture setting issue, or a leaky injector or some such.

Check your fuel pump check valve and fuel accumulator. Also your control pressures.

That sounds totally like the fuel valve to me located right on the fuel pump it self.
The symptoms I had with my SC are as follows: Car starts perfect when it is cold no issues Car starts perfect if sits for a while after running it Car does not start after running it, like stopping at the quickie mart. My answer was simple, the valve located on the fuel pump. Just go ahead and change, a pretty simple job, and cheap too. And if it hasn't been done it will need to be in the future. Good luck,

Okay,
Here is a picture of it............... ![]() Do searches and see if you can find a part number. I did see that it costs about $17. Every new pump comes with one on it. I tried to see if pelican carrys it but I did not see it online. But, you know what Wayne says, "Just Call" so I bet they can get if for you. Good luck.
