Hey guys time to paint my car, thinking about painting it black with a yellow stripe (dont flame lol) Can someone photoshop it black with a solid yellow stripe going from the front bumper up the hood? Im talking a strip that goes in between the lines on the hood. Thanks!

I don't mean to be harsh here, apologies in advance, but Photoshop is not magic... Changing colors on a car and looking realistic is HARD work! May I suggest you buy photoshop elements for $50, read a couple of tutorials, and give it a shot yourself ? Better start with a picture of a black car and do that stripe, that will look better and be easier than changing your whole car to black ! Also, you want to give people some ammo to work with, that little 400 pixel shot is largely unusable (too small) to do anything decent ;-)
I'd probably copy this into another layer, desaturate, edit that to look black, then paste it over your car except for a stripe area.. Lotsa work ;-) |

Have the car covered in vinyl, that way if you don't like it you can simply go back by peeling it off.

Great point! It drives me nuts everytime I see this request. It is not as easy as most think.

Black and white are actually the two hardest colour-changes to do.
The stripe is beyond my meagre Photoshop skills, but here's a very quick-and-dirty conversion to black: Ben

Photoshop IS magic. It just takes years to learn how to do magic, or at least good magic. That being said, I think there are many people on this board who jump at the chance to show off their photoshop skills. What's wrong with a request? They are always answered and usually people do a decent job.

Nothing wrong with the request at all. I like helping people, photoshop'ers just need a little more ammo to work with...like a black car photographed in a similar position, that's it.

Would you mind sharing the steps taken to do this, and roughly how long it took?
