DME Relay Location

Hi all,

I think my DME relay has expired (wont start, clicking from fuel pump / starter ?). I have a spare (came with the car), but being non technical I would appreciate some advice on where it lives in the car so that I can change it.

Thanks
Lee

Please clarify, the engine will still crank if the DME relay is bad, it just will not fire (no fuel). If it is not turning over it is most likely something else. In any case the DME relay is under the drivers seat next to the DME "brain".

Good Luck
Andrew

DME Relay - possibly

The engine will not crank, onthe turn of the key it "clicks" from the front but does not turn over.

Ideas welcome, the engine is not seized as it turns by the hand. I do not think the immobiliser is faulty. It seems electrical.

I will phone my mechanic and report back his thougts !!

Cheers
L

Based on what you have said... I would start with making sure the battery is good. If it is then I would check the starter.

HI sounds like the starter solinoid or earth connection, the DME relay is under your pass' seat (if it is RHD) should not stop the engine turning over

I'd bet money on a Dead battery. Just had to replace mine before The Glen this week.
