reassembly is reverse of removal. J/K Tape the window in the up position. The scissors can be moved around until the motor clears.

taped the window...

Thanks for the whole reverse of removal tip..I can't get the assy past the front window guid again, once I do how should every thing both back together? I marked all bolt locations and taped all wire with proper locations. How does it look without the inner door skin on, I should just cut it all out with the plasma, as it' s going to end up a track only car. I had a bad switch by the way, always check the simple stuff 1st..

Pain in the ass job. Did it on my 79 Targa. had to take the quarter window support out and lots of fiddling to get everything back together. My issue was with a rusted out window slider. Which in hindsight could have separated from the lifter mechanism without having to take the entire mechanism and motor out of the door. Didn't help that I had to wait a week for the right (used) part to show up so I forgot exactly in what order I took it apart in. Just make sure you put in all the door panel parts and get the right bolts and screws in the proper place and refresh the door vapor barrier so you feel like you have done some upgrading!
Don't remember the manual to be helpful but there are some good threads on the subject in the archives if you search and I think there is a technical article as well...

I'm having major trouble uploading the pages from the Bentley manual. I scanned 5 pages that show pictures of how to remove and adjust the window.

It's an AOL meets Pelican Parts website problem. I always have problems posting pics here.

If you are still having problems, I can email you the set as a zip file. You might also try calling another Porsche shop, that begins with the letter "S" and ends with "E" located in California (Atascadero). ok hope that info doesn't get me banned.
