What Years/Size Case Is This ?

About 4 years ago I purchased a truckload of misc Porsche parts from a mechanic who was retiring. Most of it is probably junk. All this stuff is still boxed up from the move to Alabama and I am just now starting to go through it.

One of the items is an extremely grimy case. Just curious as to what it is, here are the numbers:

901.101.102.7R

What years was this case produced? If memory serves the "7R" is a magnesium pre-SC case. What displacement?

Same case number than on my 73. Guess it was produced from 72 to ca. 76. But sure someone out there will have the exact numbers.

Can you find the engine number stamp on the passenger case side between the fan and where the oil pressure transducer is? It should read 9XX/XX. From that, I figure you will know exactly what it is

Doh!
I knew that. The pile of grimy parts overwhelmed the common sinse portion of my brain this morning. My B. Anderson book lists type numbers so I'll look it up. Maybe I can get back out to the garage this evening, I'll post the engine number for anyone interested as well.
