Fractured stud

80 911SC

In the process of performing the stock exhaust system swap to SSI and M&K I broke the stud that holds the two large oil lines against the body. I have maybe 1/4 inch of the stud remaining.

Q: How is the stud "fixed" into the body? ie > can I use another stud remover and try to unscrew the last bit out?

Suggested remedy's??

you should be able to drill and "easy-out" that. Let it soak in PB Blaster or similar overnight and tap on it periodically/douse again.

My guess?

I believe that the stud in the photo is a weld stud that cannot be removed by anything other than cutting off and rewelding/
