Exclamation Nozzle Stuck in Gas Tank

I have a 2005 C2 Cabriolet. After filling my gas tank today, the nozzle got stuck in the hole !!! Is that weird or what? I couldn't pull it out. Two other people couldn't pull it out either. I ended up calling AAA. The tow truck driver got it out after a 15-minute struggle.

From reading the manual, I understand that there is some kind of "constrictor" thing that keeps gasoline from spilling out when you make a sharp turn. Could this be malfunctioning?

They say sports cars are gas guzzelers, seems like yours wanted to whole damn keg and was in no mood to let go.

(Im just here for the laughs, someone who knows a thing or two should chime in.)

Welcome to the Forum, you will find lots of good info here.

That sounds like an embarrassing and traumatic experience. You may find more experience about this issue on the Pelican 964/993/996 Forum. If you don’t get much response here, ask a moderator to move your thread.

You are always welcome here but you need an answer before your next fill-up. A call to a PCNA Dealer might uncover a recall or TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) about this issue.

When you look in the filler neck, can you see what was hanging up on the nozzle?

Best,
Grady

My guess is that the fuel filler nozzel was defective and not your car. See the spring on the nozzel in this picture. The filler nozzel you used probably had a defective or broken spring that got hung up in the filler hole.

Although this might not have anything to do with your car, follow Grady's advice and call your dealer to see if there is a service bulletin about this issue. Around these parts Grady is held in very high regard for his Porsche knowledge. Welcome aboard!

I think you can just pull away when it gets stuck like that..I saw them do it the other day during the indy 500.
