light weight tail light housings

I did a search looking for info on light weight 911 tail light housings but couldn't find anything. Wasn't someone on this board making them? The housing was made out of plastic and looked light a stock tail light.

it seems the factory made a few of these housings (RSR or 934/5). I wasn't aware of them until I bought a pair, and some knowledgeable friends are looking into these. Very light, yet discreet. My type of mods.

light lights! 2 pair, one set has the rear enclosure for stealthy street/club- race looks like stock from the wheelwell, wink wink nudge nudge say no more, the other set can have the enclosure added on or just race. these weigh oz.'s and will need the creative socket install by installer. pm or email your best offer for these 2, and I will offer several sets in the next 2 weeks.

JSDSKI I have one pair of 69-73 fronts, need specifics on the shroud, red, amber, cis or mfi? and will package up a box of goodies.

Nice! My kind of mod. How much weight savings are you talking about? Are they available for all years? Will you put them on the used parts forum? Keep us informed. Thanks.

I would be interested in a rear pair with the backs. Do they come with the light sockets mounted? Does it have the mounts to accept the stock lenses? Availability & price?

Damon,

Are you interested in getting back going already, or just clearing some old stock? Do you have a list of available products that you currently have molds for?

My guess is that these should save 5-8 lbs. off the very rear of the car. But that is based on him saying they weight "ozs." - i.e. < 1 lb. I've never seen them except on this thread in pics.

5-8 0z.each as opposed to 2.5-3lbs each as I recall, can verify in the am on the digital scale.

One can only be weightless by shedding all earthly possesions grasshopper.

The R is the 911 example of true LW, "everything" has to be on a diet, not just one or two parts, if you are on that quest, these R of use. These are LW function, not bling, no one will see them, no one cares, just the scale at the end of the 911 diet, your 0-100-0 times and power to weight ratio.

also every handling dynamic... pitch, yaw, even a tad of roll

So, are you going to have versions with silver reflective insides, and/or the bulb holders in them? Or will that be up to the buyers?

thats for installers, i have taped them with shiny Al duct, not racing, tape. gave up on a LED version after many hours of @#$@. local auto parts can supply any bulb holder you desire.

I would also be interested for a pair w/ backs. I would also be interested in a FG center reflector.
