This is how I wired my SC. Looking at the Bosch CDI master plug from the top with the beveled edges at the front:
1 (front left) system ground = MSD black coil wire 2 (front middle) Tach wire = MSD black wire from left end of MSD 3 (front right) Signal ground = MSD Purple wire 4 (rear left) Coil Hot +12v = MSD orange coil wire 5 (rear center) Switched +12v = MSD small gauge red wire 6 (rear right) Signal Pos. = MSD Green wire Note: 3 is the green wire shield connection 6 is the green wire center conductor Use crimp on male connectors and plug into the master plug. Run the +12v power from the starter (yellow wire) and ground the unit to the chassis and/or engine. Hope this helps.

thanks that helped out alot! now my car just idles high and tacho dont work. Ill need to get the adapter but dont know why its idling high, i think its idling at about 3400 rpm. Could it be idling high because I need to gap my spark plugs?

Check your timing. Also if I recall correctly you can reverse the pickup wires which can cause a high idle but I could be wrong.
FWIW I've got a 6AL in my car with an MSD programable timing computer and the tach adapter. I used the timing computer to avoid recurving the distributer when I installed carbs on the engine. With the computer disconnected my total timing is 34-35 degrees and the car idles rather high. To install the timinig computer you need to remove the vacuum advance as well as the mechnical advance springs and weights and weld or pin the mechanical advance mechanism, effectively locking the distributer. This gives full control of the timing to the timing computer. I have yet to wire up the start retard option or install my MSD RPM activated switch which I'm gonna use for a monster LED shift light.

I hooked my green and purple wires up backward and the idle was 3500 RPM and the ignition was about 35 degrees advanced. After I hooked the wires up correctly the timing was normal (about 5 degrees advanced). This was on a 79 SC.
I wouldn't worry about which way to hook up the sensor wires (purple and green). Just hook them up either way and then check the timing to see if you have it correct. ( the high idle is another give away). Make sure you set the dizzy timing to around zero degrees static. You do that by looking at the little spinning tabs inside. They should make their closest pass on the magnets at TDC. -Andy

My guess is the MSD probably trigers of the trailing side of the pulse, hook up the trigger backwards and it triggers of the leading side of the pulse advancing the output pulse

Now I have a question, does the factory CDI introduce any timing changes in a 1984 turbo? My CDI died so an MSD conv looks real nice.

It looks like you have the front and back rows reversed. As you are looking at the top of the master plug, the beveled edges will be on the front. The front right wire should be the purple wire and the rear right wire should be the green wire. Once you get those correct just follow the rest of the info that I sent earlier.
Good luck!
