What Jeremy said, it's not easy. My car is white so that yellowish/brown factory adhesive really stood out. Ideally, I would have paid to have the wall painted with some sort of texture to match the body color. I just had my hands full with the engine rebuild and didn't have the time to fool with it...in the end, I have no regrets in putting up the pad. Maybe the glue won't be as noticable on your red car.
