Garage Child Barrier

Anything which hinders or obstructs; an obstacle to progress, approach, or attack = barrier.

I was having nightmares of bicycle handle bars running down the side of my car. Objects of all different sizes heaved at my p-car. You get the picture.

I came up with this child barrier. I purchased used office cube dividers and painted them to match the walls.

What do you think?

I should go and take pictures of the little hand prints all over the passenger side of the car. Along with the hand prints on the passenger window. He assumes its HIS Porsche, so he does what he likes. I'm glad he touches her. I don't mind. Cant hurt it. Bikes (except for mine) are NOT allowed in the garage. I have a side gate the kids got in and out of with their bikes.

I only have a single car garage and it has nothing in it but MY stuff. There is no reason for anybody to go in there. My 19 year old used to think the toolbox was of the comunity type but his inability to find the keys put a stop th that.
I'm also 6-4 with a size 12EE foot........need I say more?
I like your idea, good solution for "comunity" area.

No kids allowed in the garage.A small shed in the back yard (12X10) is good to put garden tools and kid`s bikes/toys...The garage is a NO KID`S LAND.

My kids love the garage. They place their toys on jack stands and make any necessary repairs. I encourage activities in the garage - I have two boys 6 & 4. We spend the majority of our free time in the garage. This is why I developed my "child barrier".

I thought my idea would help others who share the same space with their little ones.

Get rid of the kids. Your wife will leave you be in the garage all day long and play p car wrench. We have a 6 and half month old boy, I drove the 930 only once in the past 7-8 months. sonce I have no more time, I am thinking of selling my baby. No, not the car.

You have a great idea, one day soon they will knock over those dividers too. any way to put some weight on the feet so that they wouldn't tip over onto the 911.

look 171,

The dividers are attached to each other with allen bolts. The panels are fairly heavy - it is a very stout set-up. Toward the front of the car (not shown in the photo) I have attached another panel perpendicular to the other panels. This eliminated the possibility of the panels "tipping over". I struggle just to readjust the set-up.

I was in the same boat as you - finding time to drive my car. Then I got involved with the local PCA chapter and started attending DE's. Now I drive my car around twelve times a year and spend twelve times the money.
