2.7 engine
How can I tell what HP my 2.7 '74 911 engine is giving. In the technical section the '74 are posted with both 159hp and 175hp

I don't know much about the 2.7l engines, but most Porsche 911's have been issued in two varients, if you like: the European power rating is always the higher rating while the US rating is lower due to emissions control measures etc.

According to the factory numbers, the '74 911 made 150hp, and the '74 911S and Carrera made 165hp. These are for US models. For that year, there was also a 2.7 Carrera RS available in Europe that made 210hp.

The 150 hp. engine # is 911/92.
The 175 hp. engine # is 911/93. You should find the number stamped in your case just in front of the oil pressure sender. |
