Alternator nuts/washers ???

I need a little "brainpower" here - I've got the Valeo alternator in my 78 SC - the car came in boxes, so I never got to do the disassembly. I can't tell if the alternator connections (B+, D- and 61) need an isolation (non-conducting) washer under them, or if the connectors get bolted directly to the "plate" that the posts go through.....
Anyone know the right way to hook these up? (I know red to B+, Blue to 61 and Brown to D- but I don't know if I need to put a plastic or fiber washer between the connector and the back plate)
