Front Torsion Bar Splines not lining up. What gives?

Are there different size splines for the front torsion bar? I'm upgrading from stock to 21mm Sway Away's on my 69. I can't seem to get the cap to sync with the OEM or the new aftermarket numbes. I've got a small file that I'm working with on the cap...did they come in different sizes/styles?

Can you put the cap on the bar while it's out of the car? If the parts fit together while they are out/off the car...then it's your method of installation. But if the splines and the adjustment cap don't fit together, you probably have corrosion issues...or the bar got pas QC.

There is at least one whole notch movement in the crossmember. If it doesn't want to go back in the same position, take anyone you can and get the adjuster screw to protrude and rest on the pad when the car is down. Work from there.

I guess that's the answer. Your question is hard to read and understand. A direct answer is no, only 914 are different.

Saw your other post. You could have been sent a 914 cap. Now I understand the question better.
