Lowered my 88 - how did I do
Just added TT rods and raised the steering rack then lowered my 88. What do you think?

Rear is too high. Measure from the ground to the apex of the fender lip through the center of the hub. A good compromise for street rake would measure 24.5" in the rear and 25.25" in front. The front measurement is higher because it's actually cut higher into the fender than the rears.
Sweeet car, and best year, IMHO ![]()

Nice car. The rear does look a little high.

Looks just like my ride height, I've got to lower the rear as well. I had the front lowered to euro spec with no bump-steer kit. It rides fine, no wheel jerks on bumps. Nice ride.

its RAPED APE RED........my favorite color! its beautiful! did you have to roll your front fender lips at all like me? was rubbing top center front passenger side just enough to piss us off. so we rolled both fronts . we were at euro height also.

Agree with Zoanas, the rear needs to come down a little more to have the right stance. I would keep 1/2" difference between front and rear, rear being lower, as explained above.

I like the nose-down attitude. I'm at 24.5" front and 24.75" rear, but then I'm running smaller front tire OD's than normal. What are your measurements? Great looking car, David!

Drivers side rear looks a tad higher than the pass side. Both sides could be lower. Beautiful car.

Park it on a totally flat surface and take a direct side view shot. Might be easier to tell.

Ya my driveway isnt flat. Its 25.25 in the rear and 25.50 in the front. I guess I need to come down to 25.00 in the rear. Heres a side shot.

You can probably make that small adjustment without reindexing your torsion bars, unless they have never been touched. The factory setting was set up so you could only raise the car. If your ride height adjustment bolts are set in the middle of their range, you might get lucky by simply turning them to their lowest setting, which would be close your 1/4" needed drop.

Looking at it on a level surface it looks pretty good as is, with a little "hot rod" attitude. It depends on what you like... IMHO lower the back 1/2"
Great looking car! |

Just for comparison, here's mine at 24.5" front and 24.75" rear, with 205's on the front & 245's on the rear, sans rockers:

Thanks. It looked so nasty with the rockers off I almost hated to reinstall them. I agree, David, you could go a bit lower all around. Still like the nose-down though!

Nose-down is a bad idea. The corner balance will be destroyed with a nose-down attitude. It will negatively affect your handling.

Yep, especially turn-in and braking.

Not true IF the front-to-rear attitude is set first, THEN the car is cornerweighted and aligned, especially if the front control arm geometry has been altered for anti-dive (ie with spacers under the front mounts). I think the weight distribution is actually better this way; shifts it slightly forward. But if you take a properly aligned and corner weighted car, then drop the nose, well of course everything is going to be off.
