I wanted to get some prof advice from the board about this before I go and buy a new one. I believe my WUR is shot. I checked the ohms and it read ~34 and from what I gather it should be around ~24. The car starts great, but I have to what till the temps around 150 or the car acts like its running on 3 cyl. Can anyone confirm this diagnosis? Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.... I took it out and cleaned everything but thats about it.
Car is a 75 911S Thanks Again |

There are many things that contribute to how an engine runs when cold.
Before you ditch the WUR you should check the cold fuel pressure against the standard range for your car.

I agree w/ Rarly, check your pressures to make sure they are in spec before you replace anything. Early CIS cars, w/o the aid of the many CIS subsystems later used, do not run super well when cold. My car skips and jerks hard when cold below 3k, unless you give it a minute or two to warm up. It is easier to just be patient and use a routine than to reengineer the wheel.
You might also make your WUR or a generic WUR (i.e. off a VW Rabbit or Golf circa early 80's) adjustable before paying an absurd amount for the correct one for your car. I did just that and my car runs fantastic for literally almost no money and just a bit of time. Do a search there are many threads on making adjustable WURs. |
