I put some of the old "PORSCHE" decals on my rockers. The best advice I can give you is spray a mist of clean water on the area you're putting the decals on to give you a bit of time to move them around to make sure they're straight. Then you can squeegee the water out with a thin bondo spreader or something similar. I would also put some pieces of masking tape above or below the decal to use as a reference point to make sure they're straight. Good luck.

Do a search on the 'net. There are a bunch of descriptions on how to install the graphics.

Heres what works best for me when applying decals
Clean the area real good and get all of the wax off and dirt off. You can use 3m-wax remover then straight alcohol. Make sure your hands are clean - use alcohol spray a soapy solution (like a cap of dish soap in your spray bottle). Spray the decal liberally with the solution and your hands and the car when you apply it. The soap solution gives you the ability to slide the decal around so you can get it right. Spray on more solution as needed. When everything is just right - squeegee our the solution form the middle of the decal out Or just read Mikez link

I did this myself a while back the best advice I can give you aside from the typical measure, tape line, lubricate details is to cut the graphics into manageable lengths at strategic locations.
I did the job myself and that approach while appearing radical was key to me getting a perfect application. One piece lengths are just way too hard to work with unless you have a lot of practice and the style of the decal lets you cut it into segments without cutting into the color portion of the decal itself.

Michael-
I can't resize that photo to read the inches -- is that 2" or 3" from bottom of door? Also, have you scheduled a summer date to the Glen yet? Noel was there last weekend and loved it. We're gonna try to get there this year sometime if possible.

mikez- Do you make the CarreraCS script that was used on the Club Sport or can you make the same script (Carrera 3.2) as the ducktail but in a size appropriate for the side of the car same location as the traditional Carrera script??
A little something different. Thanks |
