I'm sorry but here in TX we have a name for set-ups like that.

But hey, if it works for you, go for it.

No way Jose does this even remotely resemble how twin plugs work.

Just a differnt way of looking at it...and considering the cost, a worthy ignition upgrade before taking more complicated routes.

Cheers,

I think it is interesting and think it is great that you even tried it. It shows more thought than what it takes to deny it works.
Good luck with it.

Not really. Just think how much more thought it would take to try something that is done all the time by some on this board like twin plugging or EFI conversion$.

In comparison, I consider what I have done pretty much a no brainer.

Cheers,

I give Joe/Jose credit for ingenuity. My only concern is longevity. I'd always have a fear in the back my head that the tie-wrap or JB Weld would let go at the worst possible time. Then what? AAA?

I've seen sparks jump a full two inches.

Hey it may be better if it breaks you can find parts. I have to order Porsche parts from California takes a week to get here if I'm lucky. There's a dodge/jeep dealer in every town. Also though not as good as twin plugging the longer spark might have some benefits. I assume there was a reason that american cars went with HEI. Possibly better cold starting. I don't think they would have done it if it didn't improve something. Seems like those would be easy parts for one of the injection moulding gurus on the board to copy and blow out as solid units. By the way in posting it publicly the pattent rights went out the door. Since no one has said it I will. You have to remember that the burning of the fuel in the cylinder is not an explosion but a controlled burn. That is controlled by the location of the spark and the design of the head and piston. I rest my knowledge. OK I can't stop there. One problem be increased problems with jumping sparks. The HEI is strong and will take the least resistance. Any contamination in the cap rotor or faulty wires could cause problems with arcing. Used to see chevy coils and rotors burnt out all the time. OK now I'm done

I can't see the merit of it.

I don't like the JB weld!

But I love the fact that you tried it

dfink, you've got Speedway, in Lincoln. In many ways, they rule. And I'm a New Yorker.

Yes speedway is close and my favorite source for simicrome polish. That however is about all I have been able to use them for. If you only turn to the left they would be great. I am sure they are also an excellent source for items like joints, fans, connectors and other items used in general automotive upgrades. I could however probably get a chrysler distributor cap there
They do however have a nice of scales I have eyeing....
