Idling issues with 2.7

I have a 2.7 motor in which I recently replaced the warm up regulator (it was misfiring and having idling running problems). It starts great in the morning and idles around 1,000 rpms for the first couple lights then moves up to 2,000 and stays there. If I park the car at my destination for an hour or so, when I return it cranks up fine and idles great for the rest of the day until the next morning. Any ideas? Thanks

The aux. air reg. wire conecter is loose, diconected or no power to it. The air reg. may also be sticking or failed all together.

Good luck,
Lee

Thanks Lee for your response. If I find that there is no juice going to the aux air reg, is there a relay or fuse that I can check/replace to get the power through?

Thanks in advance

after running some diagnostics to eliminate the aux air valve as a possibility I plugged the aux air regulator and its outgoing hose and the car is idling perfectly now. Now I have to check the red relay that operates the regulator to make sure juice is getting to it, or that the regulator is just bad by staying open and making the car run too lean... thus idling higher.
